CHEESE - Swiss (CH) Exploration, Education & Science Endeavor

Point of contact: valentin.bickel@unibe.ch

CHEESE is a distributed network of Swiss researchers and science institutions interested in human and robotic science and exploration of the Moon and the inner solar system, including Near Earth Asteroids (NEAs). We call this network CHEESE – the Swiss (CH) Exploration, Education, and Science Endeavor. CHEESE is affiliated with NASA SSERVI (Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute, https://sservi.nasa.gov/) and seeks to optimize national and international communication, collaboration, and education, building on existing national and international research projects. CHEESE topics of interest are well aligned with NASA SSERVI interests and include 1) Science and sensing instruments and experiments, 2) Sample science and handling, 3) Mobility and robotic systems, 4) Applications of machine learning, 5) Planetary science, comparative planetology, and habitability, 6) Missions and operations, and 7) In-situ resource utilization.
